Spring is here! C’mon get hoppy! Whatever you’re celebrating—birthdays, Easter, baby showers, or just the season itself—these bunny-topped cupcakes bring that “spring fever” feeling to a party that any bunny will love.
Frost cupcakes with green frosting to look like grass, top them with bunny cookies–store bought or homemade or even bunny drawings. Match the cupcake liner to the cake color for a seamless look. Display them in a row on a green tablecloth so your table looks like a garden full of frolicking bunnies hopping from hill to hill—and you’ll have taken care of dessert and decor all in one!
What You’ll Need
- Cupcakes (store bought or homemade) in paper cupcake wrappers
- Bunny Cookies (homemade or store bought – these are by Patti Page)
- Green Icing (store bought or homemade)
- Green construction paper
- Scissors
- Double-Sided Tape
Step 1 Cut green paper into 1.5”H X 9”:W strips (larger or smaller depending on your cupcake size, just be sure the grass does not hit the frosting)
Step 2 Snip fringes into the long top side of the rectangular strips to resemble grass.
Step 3 Adhere a strip of double stick tape along the length of the green strip.
Step 4 Wrap the green strip around the cupcake so that the straight edge lines up with the bottom of the cupcake wrapper, the tape sticks to the wrapper, and the fringed side is on top.
Step 5 Set cupcakes in a row, and stick bunny cookies in every other one until the display—and the party—is really hopping.
