These star-spangled drinks are all dressed up for the 4th of July with patriotic ice cubes, star-studded swizzle sticks, and strawberry star garnishes. Whether you serve them with water, seltzer, or any summery drink, they’re like a firework in a glass. Here’s how to deck out your drink for Independence Day:
–Patriotic Ice Cubes
–Star-Studded Swizzle Sticks
–Star-Shaped Strawberry Garnishes
–You can also add any other Independence Day themed extras like red, white, and blue paper straws or cocktail napkins.
What You Need:
For the Ice Cubes
- Ice cube tray
- Berries such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries
For the Star-Studded Swizzle Sticks
- Darcy Miller Designs Patriotic Star Template
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Bamboo skewer
- Tape
For the Strawberry Garnish
- Strawberries
- Parking knife or small star cookie cutter (around 1” wide)
Step One: Place a few berries in each opening in the ice cube tray. Cover with water and freeze overnight.
Step Two: To make the patriotic star-studded stir sticks, download the Patriotic Star template, print, and cut out the stars. Attach one or more stars to each stick with tape.
Step Three: To make the strawberry star garnish, slice a strawberry lengthwise so you have a cross section of the widest part of the berry and cut it into a star shape or punch out a star using a cookie cutter. Make a small slit halfway through so it can rest on the side of the glass as shown.
Step Four: Put it all together by placing the berry ice cubes in a glass and cover with water, seltzer, or a drink of your choice. Slide the star-shaped strawberry garnish onto the glass. Fill each glass with a star swizzle stick, paper straw, and any other patriotic flourishes.
