Today show anchor Dylan Dreyer loves sports, especially golf. So when it came time for her shower for baby number two, we knew which dessert would be a hole in one: a custom version of the golf cake from Celebrate Everything!
Butterfly Bakeshop made this putting green cake inspired by the one in the book. We topped it with my drawing of the family of almost-four, plus a few pennants. It would also work at a sports-themed birthday, retirement party, or any game-day celebration.
Newspaper-style cards called “The Family Forecast” invited guests to offer advice on the second inning of parenting, as well as tips on being a big brother for the family’s MVP, Calvin.
Everyone had a ball at dessert—actually, several balls, thanks to these sports-themed cake pops from Rebecca’s Cake Pops.
Chocolate bars in personalized wrappers make great favors—these are printed with my drawing of a family at the top of their game.
More to-go treats: brownies shaped like toy blocks from Butterfly Bakeshop.
The original drawing of the fab foursome—taped into a Darcy Miller Designs X Chasing Paper frame decal—served as party decor, and is a sweet souvenir to hang in the nursery after Baby arrives.
