Topped with a sprinkle of sea salt, this easy chocolate popcorn bark is guaranteed to steal the spotlight at your Academy Awards viewing or movie star party—or any time you host a group to watch a movie.
Serve the salty-sweet treat on a tray, in bags, or in popcorn boxes for an added cinematic touch. After one bite, you’ll know who the Oscar for Best Snack goes to.
What You’ll Need:
Rimmed baking sheet
Parchment paper
Medium saucepan
Glass bowl
Melting chocolate (bittersweet shown here)
Popcorn
Sea salt (optional)
How To:
Step 1 Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2 Fill saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower heat to a simmer and sit the glass bowl on top of the water to create a makeshift double boiler.
Step 3 Pour chocolate into bowl, stirring until melted.
Step 4 Remove from heat and pour melted chocolate onto parchment until tray is covered in a thin layer.
Step 5 While chocolate is still hot and gooey, sprinkle popcorn and sea salt over it, using as much or as little as you want.
Step 6 Refrigerate until solid, about 1 hour.
Step 7 Remove from refrigerator and flip chocolate out of tray onto a clean surface. Peel off parchment paper and break bark into bite size pieces.
